CBD’s acceptability and mainstream use for holistic wellness are still in its formative development. In fact, researchers are still working to create a “one-size-fits-all” paradigm for eating the compound.
While deciding how much CBD Tincture to take, how much Body Lotion or Face Cream to apply, how many Soft Chews to eat, or how much CBD E-Liquid to vape may appear to be difficult at first. The tried and true trial-and-error approach is the most reliable way to assess those limits. Because there is a paucity of evidence on the ideal CBD dose.
Consider this article to be an informational guide – a beginning point of reference. Please keep in mind that this is not to be confused with health advice. There is one common truth to remember when it comes to cannabinoids and CBD dosing.
Everyone is Different
There are endless other things to consider that make the development of a standard dosage nearly impossible. Weight, food, metabolism, heredity, environment, product consistency, way of distribution, and a variety of other factors all make it practically hard to design a one-size-fits-all answer to dosing.
Everyone is different and processes things differently, just as supplements, and even the food we eat. Therefore, studying CBD dosages bends more towards the “do what works for you” concept. Nonetheless, this post will highlight various CBD dosing pointers and methods, with a particular focus on CBD Tincture Dosing. Don’t worry. We’ll spotlight dosing tips and tricks for our other goods in due course.
CBD tinctures are one of the most preferred paths of administration, and who can argue with that? Putting a couple of drops under the tongue and feeling the effects within minutes? Yes, please!
On the other hand, Tinctures are arguably one of the most difficult items to dose. There is, though, a light at the end of the tunnel, and it involves some self-awareness as well as fundamental math skills. Let’s get started!
Understanding The CBD Quantities
We’ll use our Orange Tincture for this example, which comes in a 30ml bottle and contains 1ml of oil per full dose. To elaborate, consider the following:
- 30 droppers-full of Tincture = one (1) 30ml bottle
- 1 dropper-full of Tincture = 35-40 drops*
- Tincture with (X)mg CBD potency
SIMPLIFY THE TOTAL CBD POTENCY DOWN TO 1ML DOSE
It’s as simple as dividing the overall CBD concentration by the size of the bottle. In this scenario, a 1ml dose of our 500mg Orange Tincture, available in a 30ml bottle, contains roughly 16.667mg of CBD.
SIMPLIFY THE CBD POTENCY OF 1ML INTO 1 DROP
In this case, we suppose that a single drop of CBD-infused Tincture equals 35 drops when converted to a 1ml dose. As a result, divide your CBD potency per 1ml dose by 35. A single drop of Tincture in a 30ml bottle of Orange Tincture at 500mg CBD potency yields roughly 0.476mg.
DETERMINING HOW MANY DROPS YOU NEED TO FIND RELIEF
Now that you’ve discovered the efficacy of a single drop of your Tincture, the following step is to figure out how many drops you’d need to get relief. This is also a simple math formula: divide the required CBD dose of the product by the proportion of CBD per drop calculated previously.
The uncertain variable establishes how much CBD you’d need to properly resolve this issue. This brings us to our next point: how would you calculate the appropriate amount to alleviate your ailment?
Suggested Dosing Calculator
As we stated at the outset of this post, numerous elements will ultimately influence the size of the dosage that will suit you. Aside from the condition and its severity, other factors involved:
- Tolerance to CBD*
We won’t go into lengthy detail about the list above. But we will emphasize three of these aspects and how they may skew information along with your dosage experience.
We will continue to provide broad guidance based on weight; however, keep in mind that your weight may alter for various reasons, and thus your dose may vary. Suppose you lose weight owing to a reduction in the severity of a mental disorder (e.g., anxiety, depression, or psychosis). In that case, your CBD dosage will tend to decrease with time.
On the contrary, if you increase weight due to increased appetite or the elimination of nauseous emotions, your CBD dosage will increase. While we cannot provide medical advice, this is strongly related to the “see what works for you” concept. All you need to accurately determine your ideal dose is a paper to note your conclusions.
In contrast to weight, metabolism does not vary as much. Unless there is a significant shift in lifestyle (for example, transitioning from a sedentary to an active lifestyle), metabolism changes gradually. Furthermore, metabolism is not a measurable quantity. Is it possible to quantify how long it would take to digest food?
Tolerance To CBD
It’s worth mentioning that CBD tolerance comes with an asterisk. While CBD tolerance does exist, deviations to this rule are dependent on how the CBD is obtained. When it comes to consuming CBD, especially State Of Mind Labs’ CBD, our extraction method is Full Plant Extract, which means that we keep the other cannabinoids, terpenes, and plant material from the hemp plant throughout extraction.
We also use a patented filtration method that successfully takes out the THC WITHOUT compromising any of the hemp’s plant substances during such a procedure. The end product is a hemp extract that contains virtually all of the plant’s therapeutic properties. Because nearly every batch is distinct in microscopic ways – and hence difficult for the body to create a tolerance against – incorporating these features now allows for tolerance development.
We’ll clue you in on a little secret: starting small is the best way to determine the proper dosage for your situation. Remember, the less medicine you require to feel well, the better.
We’ll just want you to focus on EXPERIMENT! Experiment with different dosages for 3 days to allow your body to adjust. For the next 3 days, modify the dosage up or down as needed. If you experience any discomfort as a result of your dosage, reduce it to a reasonable level and continue your process.
