What Is the Difference HHC vs. THCP

How different is HHC from cannabinoids THCP? Does it have similar effects, and which cannabinoid is most effective?

THCP vs. HHC: Which Cannabinoid Is More Potent?

The status of cannabis as a narcotic substance has long limited the use of this drug in research work and the treatment of diseases. However, its medical and recreational use has increased significantly over the past decade after being legalized in the US and many other countries. Cannabis contains many reactive compounds, including cannabinoids, terpenoids, flavonoids, and alkaloids.

The most important of these are Δ9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD). In addition to them, more than 100 active cannabinoids are known, each capable of modulating the ECS. The latter is a network of cannabinoid receptors, their ligands, and regulatory synthesizing and degrading enzymes that function on demand.

However, it can also be dangerous. Cases of excessive cannabinoid vomiting syndrome have increased since the legalization of medicinal cannabis. Now, this syndrome is considered a potential side effect in some patients. This syndrome is observed in those people who take marijuana for a long time and quite often.

So let’s see what cannabinoids can be safe for us. Then, using the example of THCP and HHC, we will determine what their differences are and what effect they can have.

The THCP Cannabinoid

Based on the name itself, it is not difficult to guess that THCP is closely related to THC. It is also commonly referred to as Delta 9 or Delta 8. That is, they are all low concentrations found in the hemp plant. Scientists have found that the endocannabinoid system of THCP and THC is almost identical due to the interaction.

However, there are still differences. THCP binds more frequently to CB1 prescriptions and can be up to 33 times stronger. The product has a more complex molecular structure – about 7 carbon atoms- which makes it attach to receptors throughout the human body much more stronger. THCP effects on the body are exactly the same as THC, but it is enough to take a smaller dose.

Key points to know about THCP:

  • Two main receptors are involved in the work – CB1, and CB2. The latter can behave unpredictably and produce different effects. While the former is located in the nervous system and responsible for the product’s psychoactive effects.
  • THCP has a natural effect due to the low allowed counterreaction. For example, its natural level does not exceed 0.1%.
  • THCP is internationally legal. But, in the USA, each state can enact its own marijuana laws, so while THCP may technically be legal at the federal level, it may be subject to different state laws.

So, THCP is stronger than THC.

The HHC Cannabinoid

HCA is one of the latest discoveries found in the pollen and seeds of the hemp plant. It is a very stable hydro cannabinoid, but marijuana lovers find it even more fascinating that it behaves almost like delta-9 due to its similar chemical structure.

However, it is worth remembering that it is much weaker than THCP but has similar side effects – nausea, bad mood, physical discomfort, problems with appetite, etc. Scientists have not proven that HHC can be dangerous to human health. It is also weaker than other cannabinoids. Is HHC stronger than THC? Not; it is THC that is 30% stronger. Despite the lack of direct evidence of its bad effects on the body, scientists do not advise using HHC in the medium or long term.

Key points to know about HHC:

  • HHC is a synthetic substance, indicating the presence of chemicals that can negatively impact human health.
  • The difference between HHC and THC is obvious, hence also with THCP. Studies have shown that HHC use can increase sleep duration, lower body temperature, and suppress pain.
  • HHC is officially legal in all US states and other countries worldwide.
  • Despite the synthetic nature of HHC, it is safer to take than other cannabinoids.

THCP vs. HHС

HHC is often compared to THC, but since THCP is a camping product from the second, most aspects can be equated with it. However, it is worth remembering that THCP is stronger; if you feel bad about THC, it is definitely trying. The best replacement would be HHC, as a milder cannabinoid.

  • HHC and THCP are psychoactive cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. HHC is an analog of the main psychoactive molecule Delta-9 THC. THCP is directly related to THC, so it also connects with HHC.
  • The molecular structures of both cannabinoids are almost identical, except that hydrogen bonds replace the double carbon bonds.
  • While THCP is abundant in cannabis flowers, HHC is low. As a result, most HHC products on the market are made by converting another through a lab chemical reaction.
  • HHC and THCP may be federally legal if they are derived from cannabis plants containing less than 0.3% THCP by dry weight. However, some states may ban all THC analogs, including THCP.

Before purchasing any product, always check with a third-party lab to ensure its efficacy and quality.

Conclusion

It is now easy to become a consumer of alternative cannabinoids due to the huge selection that comes on the market. But remember, if you consume products like THCP and HHC, you should carefully check if they are legal in your state. While you probably won’t have a problem with HHC, THCP is banned in many of them (Arizona, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, etc.).

Also, always look for the COA on the product or the website if buying online. If you do not find such a certificate, do not buy or use them, as you do not know the exact chemical composition and what effect you will have.

Be careful with these products and be mindful of their effectiveness, so you don’t experience the adverse side effects of noise and headaches that are difficult to manage on your own.

What is better for you to try depends on the result you want to achieve and the purpose of the application. HHC is generally less potent than Delta 9 THC, which means it is even less potent than the super-strong THCP.

If you are looking for the most potent cannabinoid, THCP is a much better choice than HHC.; even in HHC vs. Delta 8, the second one wins.
